My inspiration is nature, history and ancient sources and cultures. I make direct connections to the natural world and to human life as part of, rather than separate from, nature. My work evokes an emotional response through its interpretation of nature and pays homage to the power and complexity of the natural world. Delving into primal myths and creating environmental links that reflect them, I search for truths relevant to our contemporary existence. The relationship between life, nature and art is a subject that transforms the way we see the world and our place in it. Our society's lost connection and appreciation of the gifts of the natural world and resulting failed environmental stewardship of the land, and food produced from it, are related issues reflected in this work.
